Posta Rangers Coach Sent on Leave After String of Defeats
Posta Rangers have taken decisive action following their 3-0 loss to Shabana FC in an FKF Premier League fixture, placing coach John Kamau on compulsory leave.
Matthew Tegisi, Brian Machira, and Lloyd Khavuchi found the net as Shabana piled more misery on Posta Rangers, who have struggled for form in recent weeks.
The defeat marks Posta Rangers’ fourth consecutive loss across all competitions, during which they have conceded a total of 13 goals. Their losing streak includes a 1-0 loss to Police FC in the Mozzart Bet Cup, a 5-1 defeat by Kariobangi Sharks, and a 4-0 thrashing by FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, an anonymous player confirmed the coach’s leave, expressing that the decision was long overdue. He acknowledged the team’s responsibility in the matter, admitting that they had not performed at their best.
“The decision has been in the pipeline for weeks now; it felt like it was just a matter of time before it was implemented. The coach has been under so much pressure due to the heavy defeats, and it’s unfortunate that he has paid the price because, as players, I feel we should have done better on our part. Some of us have not been at our best,”
~he said.
John Kamau began the league strongly, leading for several weeks before Gor Mahia overtook them. The team’s fortunes changed after losing captain Ken Owino to AFC Leopards, and they have struggled to recover since.
Posta rangers currently sit 5th on the log with 39 points, 12 off log leaders Gor Mahia.
