KIBEA SOCCER WOMEN FC 1 : 3 KENYA POLICE BULLETS FC
In what started at a very high pace and a match that almost all women football enthusiasts had predicted to be a thriller lived up to its dream. The Bullets had a good feeling that after dismantling the defending champions now the tough barrier that could likely become a stumbling block on their way to clinching the title would be the Kibera based side especially as per to their playing style which themselves dub it as ‘ BURUDANI ‘ . As expected , Kibera started off by speedy attacks on the bullets who were working tirelessly to neutralize the threats. On the left wing the high paced Maria Ambila was taking bullets right back Quinter Awiti head on, dribbling the ball past her and taking shots that slightly went over the bar.

To confirm to the fans how Maria was terrorizing Quinter, the Kibera winger dribbled ahead of the Police right back who was out of options and decided to tackle her from the back inside the 18 yard box a tackle that the referee pointed at the spot together with a yellow card to the defender. Kibera striker and captain Nancy Atako who is also the second placed highest scoring player in the league stepped up and took the ball, placed it on the spot ready to face Mishi Mbaru who then become the villain by saving the penalty ensuring no one steps up in the match. Kibera hurled some more numerous attacks in the half that seemed to be right in their hands but failed to convert their chances into goals. With only a minute remaining towards the end of the first half, Police Bullets midfielder Mercy Njeri was dribbling past Kibera right back on the left wing and in the event to bring in a cross, the ball swung into the post finding Kibera goal keeper Vivian Shiyonzo on flat only to drop in giving Police a goal and lead into the match. It did not take a lot of time before Police got a corner that was swung in well and to redeem herself Lydia Akoth capitalized on the Kibera defensive lapse to bury the ball in the net for a second goal for the team. At the 76th minute again Quinter Owiti fouled a Kibera striker in the box earning herself a second yellow and thus sent off while Kibera were awarded a penalty that defender Joyce Okuku took and now converted into a goal to bring back the Kibera fans hearts into the match. Without allowing Kibera time to bring themselves back into the match, Police striker Puren Alukwe burred all the Kibera efforts in the 83rd minute by scoring a third goal for the Police side.T he maximum points take Police to 9 points on top of the table ahead of second placed Vihiga Queens Fc.
