The Talanta Hela football initiative is among the initiatives rolled by the ministry of sports across the country in a campaign to monetize talent. After its launch, all the 47 counties each came up with a team where they then competed as per metropolitan regionals all the way to the nationals where one team was then selected and placed under the Kenya Academy of sports with professional coaches attached to each team.
A Spain tour was then secured whereby the boys and girls were to tour the prestigious footballing nation for trials in their equipped academies as well play in a tournament under the same objective of securing talents to be scouted for Spanish academies.

The Talanta Hela U19 boys team started their Costa Daurada Cup campaign on a high note by defeating CF Constantine 3-0 in their opening match played on Monday, 25th March at the CD Riudoms Stadium in Tarragona, Spain. Alex Kipruto, Elisha Nalianya, and Derrick Oketch scored for the Kenyan team of youngsters. Their second match, Talanta Hela U19 again defeated XBuyer Team from Spain by 4 goals to nil, goals scored by Alex Kipruto, Robert Mutie, William Gitama, Hamisi Otieno.
Day one for the Talanta Hela U19 football team ladies also saw success to them as they defeated CE Jupiter 4-0 in their opening match of the Costa Daurada Cup.They scored through, Elizabeth Mideva (2), Marion Musanga, Hilda Natecho. The girls will play their next match against Sporting de Portugal on Tuesday 26.
It is already serving as a good experience to the Kenya youngsters and they are not taking anything to chance just as the results are proving the same. We are in high hopes that they will come back victorious.
