The FKF WOMEN CUP Round of 16 came to a blast this weekend. Normally the cup enables teams playing at different league levels to have a feel of each other. Usually we encounter surprises especially when lower league clubs are playing against Premier league clubs and at this level it was not exceptional as we witnessed a number.

Women National Super League zone B side KISPED played host to the current Women Premier League leaders Kenya Police Bullets Fc in an early fixture at the Mamboleo Stadium. Kenya Police unleashed two bullets via Lucy Kwekwe and Diana Wacera to bundle out the Kisumu based side and set up themselves into the quarter finals. The surprise of the day came in the Kisiwa Starlets match as they hosted the Kenya Women Premier League defending champions Vihiga Queens at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma. Kisiwa Starlets play in the Division one league and they took the lead in the first half through a Shamim Makokha. They pushed on a 100 % business to defend this goal util the referee blew the final whistle thus bundling out the queens to book space in the quarter finals. This served uncertain for the second time for the queens as they had suffered the same fate in the previous season in the hands of the then division one Kisped.. The third match also came in as a surprise as Milima Queens which is composed of Wiyeta Girls students showed a premier league side Nakuru Queens the door as they sliced three goals through Barbara Masitsa and a brace from Eunice Nabwoba to book themselves space in the quarter finals.
